The Missionary Institute of St Patrick embraces the Christian-Celtic approach to spirituality and healing practice and is independent of any church or institution and is not associated with any formal church sect or cult. The Missionary Institute of St. Patrick focuses on the monastic tradition which is to teach and heal, and work in the healing ministry.
In blending the Celtic and Christian tradition It is an Institute that seeks to help others receive healing whether physical, spiritual, emotional or psychological.
The Institute works in the area of healing and reconciliation and seeks to draw from all the rich spiritual experience of various traditions. In this it seeks to deal with all aspects of life.
The work of the institute is to foster healing in the community. This is achieved by offering seminars and workshops on meditation, mindfulness, retreats, healing of memories, transition support and counselling, psychotherapy. Training is offered in these fields to enhance people in their various aspects of this work.

Rev Dr James Kinane
Rev Dr James Kinane is a Celtic priest / monk who is part of the Celtic spiritual tradition and is Prior of the Missionary Institute of St Patrick and does not belong to any formal church , sect or cult. The title Celtic priest describes the work and the title monk places this work within the Missionary Institute of St Patrick which is dedicated to Celtic Christian spirituality based on the Irish Monastic expression of religious experience.
Dr Kinane has not been ordained by any Celtic religion or institution, but was ordained as a catholic priest in 1984 and is now freelance and independent . All the work is steeped in the Celtic Christian spiritual tradition where healing is a significant part of this tradition. Part of this work of healing is Spiritual Direction and Dream work where training is offered to those who wish to engage in this work


The Missionary Institute of St. Patrick offers healing services for life transitions, grief, and personal renewal. Our retreats and workshops provide guided healing, including a seven-day Grief and Loss journey. We create space for reflection and growth through Prayer Journeys, Healing of Memories, and Life Healing Journeys.

Based on your beliefs, ceremonies can occur at various venues nationwide or in privately owned churches attached to hotels. They are conducted in a religious setting, independent of any denomination.
